Funny Captions

Carl Dave Wes is yelling at his parents. He's upset that he found out his parents had put broccoli in his ice cream.

My owners are making me dress up for the stupid Halloween party. She said I was going to regret what I had done.. But I didn't think it would come down to this.

Gary is just sitting in his stroller when he sees that his parents are then no where to be found..

Academic Shoot Reflection

  1. The main challenges I came across was probably the 'Balance' rule as well as the 'Lines' rule.
  2. Making sure that I don't move the camera and that the subject is properly placed in a good position in the photo. I stood still, and made sure that I took multiple pictures because what if the first one isn't what you wanted, right?
  3. I could get better photos of the lines and the balance rules because I have seen other pictures and it gave me a much better idea of what more I could do with the rules.
  4. The simplicity rule and the avoiding mergers rule were not too hard to capture. I would definitely know what to do next time I am chosen to take pictures for the 6 rules.
  5. The rule that would be the easiest to achieve is either the rule of thirds or simplicity.
  6. I think the Lines rule will be much harder to capture.
  7. I think i'm not too clear on the "lines" rule because it's difficult to find subjects on campus that strictly deals with lines. I could look up pictures online to see if I had anything that could relate to that certain rule.

Africa & Mural Project Preview

I thought the pictures were really cute. I love animals especially giraffes and elephants. In my opinion, black and white photography makes the pictures look so much better and even a little more professional. It made my day to see these pictures just because they are so cute. I really liked them and honestly must have taken a lot of time to capture the "perfect" photo. Huge props to the photographers!
This is my favorite photo because it shows the elephant as really dirty and he's in the motion of walking. Oh, and I LOVE ELEPHANTS! They're just the cutest. I could see it as being balance or simplicity. Balance because the main focus point is on the elephant and there's nothing else in sight. Simplicity because it has a black background and has one object in the photo.

Photographer
  1. He used a Pentax 6711.
  2. He took the pictures to show the animals in the state that they are in before they cease to exist.
  3. He has made these types of pictures so that humans can see the beauty of these animals and hopefully influence people to be cognizant about it.
  4. "The photos are my elegy to these beautiful creatures, to this wrenchingly beautiful world that is steadily, tragically vanishing before our eyes."
Mural Project

  1. We could do an "everyday life" of our campus. The main courses here at the school as well as athletics could be in the mural.
  2. I think open up to our regular cameras because they're steady when you take the picture and you have a better angle at taking the picture, therefore it'll come out a lot better than it would on a camera phone.
  3. I think it should be around the main entrance of the school building because our guests will arrive through the front and they can see what everyday life is on Akins High School.

Academics Photo Shoot

Avoiding Mergers
  1. I think I followed the rule well because the guy on the far left is kind of cut out of the picture which makes the picture a "bad photo"
  2. The main subject is the guy on the left not being entirely in the picture.
  3. I'm not too sure
  4. Make the subject seem like the ONLY subject available in the photo.

Balance
  1. I followed the rule very well.
  2. The main subjects are the 3 students at the table, if I were to cut the picture in half it would be equal on both sides.
  3. I would hope so.
  4. I have the background more simple.

Framing
  1. I followed the rule well.
  2. The main subject is Teddy in between the bars which causes it to look like a frame.
  3. Yes definitely.
  4. Get a better view possibly from the front.

Lines
  1. I could have followed the rule much better.
  2. The main subject are the book cases which form multiple lines.
  3. Maybe, could have been better
  4. Find a better location for lines

Rule Of Thirds
  1. I followed the rule very well
  2. The main subject is Andrea in the upper left hand corner doing an assignment.
  3. Yes people could tell what rule I was using.
  4. Have her in a higher angle to produce more of the rule of thirds.

Simplicity
  1. This was my best picture yet! I fully understood this rule.
  2. The main subject is a girl climbing the ropes in the weight room.
  3. I'm positive that anyone could tell which rule I was shooting for.
  4. I could have had the background more clearer, the green mats towards the bottom gets attention as well as the girl. That's not what I wanted.

Academics and Community Service

I picked a photo of a Caucasian high school cheerleader because she is hugging a small african american girl. It's my favorite photo because it shows that racial actions are not made and that the cheerleader doesn't really care that it's someone of another color hugging her. She is smiling and seems happy. "Avoiding Mergers" is used in this photo because the other cheerleader beside her is cut off.

  1. I could take photos in science classes, computer labs, and even the computer lab because it really shows academics in those 3 subjects.
  2. I would like to visit Ms. Wilson's classroom because she's a medical microbiology teacher and every class period we have we always have a different lab.
  3. As a photographer, I will get good angles, and include the rules of photography in my images.

"Filling the Frame"

The image above definitely appears to me as the most interesting. it's a lot of guys holding hands around a pole. It's interesting and 'fills the frame' because they took advantage of the camera and got every subject included in the image.

Action and Emotion

This photo shows action because it's a very still image and you can see the crystals of the water in the air. The students show they are having fun with this experiment and you can tell it is a science class with the posters in the back. It's definitely considered an action photo because the photo was taken when they were performing the lab, therefore this is the best photo for the title.

The Story

This describes the story because you can obviously tell that they are very close with their teacher. The students seem to be having fun because they are smiling and the teacher is like "aww you got me" type a thing. The story tells that this guy is a really cool teacher and that he gets along well with his students.
