Three of the most important things for photographers to remember when out shooting that i saw where for 1.) to look at things from different angles to get the best shot and not too let an awkward angle to deter you from your inspiration. Another important tip was 2.) Looking for that moment of bigger then life explosion of happening and action that hooks peoples attention, and also those quiet moments. The Final Tip 3.) is mainly the connection between the painter and the subject, like in the most recognizable photo in the world(The Mona Lisa), which is what every photographer should be looking for when they take a portrait.
This man doing a portrait of this woman i believe didn't fully use all the rules, but he's a up and coming artist. A style that would influence me I can't really say because I'm a all around person so I'm kinda susceptible to all styles.
